Mexican Restaurant in Grant Park, Atlanta

Patria means homeland

From the agave fields of Jalisco to Grant Park

Before he was a chef, Octavio Aguirre was a jimador in the agave fields of Jalisco, learning the craft from the ground up. He brought that respect for the land to Atlanta, and in 2018 his family opened Patria Cocina.

The kitchen cooks the way his family did: fresh produce through the week, salsas and sauces made in house, never canned, and no artificial syrups or dyes, in the food or behind the bar.

Beyond the familiar

A menu drawn from many regions of Mexico, with the dishes, ingredients and flavors that tell the deeper story.

Also on the menu: ceviche Jalisco, sopes on house-made masa, green chicken pozole, carne asada, carnitas and achiote salmon.

Agave has always been more than an ingredient. It is sacred. It represents resilience. Transformation. Cultural pride. It is heritage in liquid form. Mole tells the other half of the story.

Great Mexican restaurant featuring tasty menu items like esquites (it was very cheesy) and ceviche (with a mix of fish, octopus, etc). Service was prompt and friendly and they have ample parking as well.
